Another Shuttered Business…

Lights off. Doors locked. This is how I found of my favorite lunch spots today.

I’m not sure if this is a case of someone being sick or if it’s a sign that this restaurant is closing for good. I get tired of seeing businesses offering great products or services close.

What’s worse they usually close because they’re either unaware or afraid of marketing. This is not the time to be timid. Market the s**t out of your products or services. If you’re offering something of value, then people should know about it.

Seconded, my good man. Cutting back on your marketing during a recession is like ditching your chute pack during freefall because it’s weighing you down.

Numerous studies have shown that businesses who maintain or increase the amount of money they put into marketing during a down recession end up with an expanded market share when things turn around, not to mention the fact that right now, consumers are far less loyal to the typical brands they’ve always bought, and are looking for real value when they do open up their wallets. Now is the perfect time for an upstart competitor to catch their attention.

Strangely, I wrote a blog post on the exact same topic a couple weeks ago, containing a lot more reasons why businesses should be marketing the hell out of themselves right now.

Moral of the story: stay visible!
